May Cottage is a newly converted single
storey barn conversion. Converted to the highest standards it was finished
in early 2007. May Cottage is located in East Woodlands, a small hamlet on
the edge of the Longleat Estate. It is located in the centre of the hamlet
opposite the 17th century village pub which is one of 3 Public
houses within the Longleat Estate
May Cottage is located on New farm which up
to 9 years ago was a dairy farm . today the farm consists of the farm house
, stabling for 8 horses and a small caravan club site . New Farm has been in
the same family for over 5 generations and was originally part of the Longleat Estate .
The woods of Longleat are within easy walking distance and
Longleat House is less than 2 miles away which can reached by walking
along a quiet ( and often closed to traffic) private lane.
|
Woodpecker Cottage is located just off the
centre of Nunney which is a village 3 miles from Frome and about 6
miles from Longleat, it is approximately 4 miles from May Cottage.
The village is on the edge of the Mendips within
the county of Somerset. It has a long history and has become
a well loved location with painters and walkers with its ruined Castle,
an historic church, and ducks wandering the streets near the river.
The village hall is host to the unusual Nunney Jazz Cafe,
acclaimed for its unique ambience, high quality of music, and blend
of jazz with poetry and art.
The village also has a pub which offers accommodation, a local shop
a post office , and a hair dressers all within a few hundred yards
of the cottage. |
We regret that we are unable to
accommodate pets at either May Cottage or Woodpecker Cottage
